Creating Your Vision!

Eye Watching

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned in my blog that creating a vision board was a key part of developing your plans for 2010. Well if you are still thinking about how to get that Vision Board completed here are some tips.

The reason we create a vision board is that it is a simple and powerful tool to give coherence to our dreams. Being surrounded by images of the things that are desired can help change your life to include them. Many entrepreneurs use this technique to create a focused picture of their goals.

So to get started her is what you need.

  • Foam core board, poster board, or stretched canvas
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • Old magazines in different genres.

Then all you do is:

  1. Spend time reflecting on major goals, passions, and desires for the future.
  2. Browse through the magazine, cutting out pictures and words that match the vision of the goals at hand, including images that would result from the goal coming true.
  3. Look through the stack of photos, selecting any that strike an emotional chord.
  4. Arrange the images on the board and glue them in place.
  5. Place the vision board somewhere where it will be seen each and every day. The living room, bedroom, or office may give the most opportunity to view and reflect on the board.
  6. Update the board as goals shift or are accomplished. Or, create entirely new boards for different paths or phases of life.

The key is to have fun with the process. Creating a vision board should be a pleasant rewarding experience. The more positive energy associated with the board, the faster the goals on it can be manifested. Don’t worry and stress over how the goals will be accomplished. When the vision board is created, there may not be a clear path towards achieving them.
